How we test and rank AI tools
Every recommendation on AI Stack Hunter is researched and reviewed by our editors. Here is exactly how we evaluate tools, how we score them, how often we update listings, and how we stay independent of the affiliate links that fund the site.
What we evaluate
For each tool we look at the same set of factors so listings are comparable: core capabilities and how well they deliver on the tool's stated purpose, pricing and value (including free tiers and trial terms), ease of setup and day-to-day usability, integrations with common business stacks, the quality of support and documentation, and the maturity of the company behind the product.
How we score
Tools carry an editor score that reflects our hands-on assessment and research across the factors above, weighted toward how useful the tool is for the business tasks it targets. The score is set by a person, not an algorithm, and we update it as products change. We deliberately do not show a public star rating aggregated from user reviews, because we do not collect a verifiable review count, and we will not fabricate one.
How "best" lists are built
Our "best AI tools for X" and category pages are curated. We start from the tools that genuinely fit the use case, rank them by editor score and fit, and explain who each one is best for. A tool cannot buy a higher position. When a category is too thin to be genuinely useful, we leave it out rather than pad it.
How current our listings are
The AI tools market moves quickly, so listings record when a tool was last reviewed. We re-check pricing, features, and availability on a rolling basis and when we are notified of a material change. If you spot something out of date, please tell us and we will correct it.
Independence and how we make money
AI Stack Hunter is free to use. Some outbound links to tools are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you sign up. This never changes our rankings, our scores, or whether a tool is included. Tools are listed and ranked on merit, and many tools we recommend have no affiliate program at all.
